The village of Ty’n y Groes is in the Conwy Valley, which is an extremely beautiful area. The village lies on a crossroads and there are beautiful views of the river Conwy as it flows towards its place, and in the other direction the mountains and peaks of the eastern part of Snowdonia are seen. It is an area of historical interest – the village is on the path the drovers’ road from Anglesey to London and above the crossing of the Conwy river at Tal y Cafn. It is also near an old Roman route leading from the crossing to the fort at Caerhun and over the Bwlch of the tooth towards Segontium (Caernarfon).
