The Conwy Valley boasts some wonderful walks through the finest countryside with stunning views and an abundance of wildlife and flora. In conjunction with Conwy Rural Partnership, the Association has produced a leaflet describing five circular and linear walks in the Ty’n y groes area. The map, which contains wildlife spotting tips and places of interest, may be downloaded as a PDF. Click here to download.
We would really appreciate feedback – positive and negative – on your experiences so that any issues can be dealt with and we can share your enjoyment with others, particularly sightings or special experiences and, if you would like to share any of your photos, these can be uploaded to Flikr and the Countryside photos section on our Community website. We can then draw from these from time to time as photo of the month. Thank you.

The Welsh Water upgrading works at the Bryn Cowlyd Treatment Works, Dolgarrog, which started in February 2016, will continue for some time to come. This means that there will continue to be regular additional heavy vehicles using the B5279 from Tal-y-cafn through Ty’n-y-groes and on the B5106 to Dolgarrog. Extra care therefore continues to be needed on these roads until all works in Dolgarrog have been completed. [Last update 17/01/18]NB : The new Area School, Dolgarrog, is now under construction which will add to the heavy vehicles using these roads and until its completion, approximately late 2019.
These walks are put on by Conwy Borough Council and held on a regular basis. All walks are under an hour. Everyone welcome, including prams, Nordic walkers, or people who just want to improve their health and fitness. Go along to meet new friends, enjoy the outdoors and get fitter and …. it’s free! They walk in all weathers so please wear suitable footwear. Walks are held in: Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Rhos on Sea. For more information, please call Dr Vicky Marginson Tel: 07826 876992.
